  • Pokémon Oracle: Tales of Destiny (Japanese: ポケットモンスターオラクル:テイルズオブ Pocket Monsters Oracle: Tales of Destiny) and Pokémon Oracle: Tales of Fate (Japanese: ポケットモンスターオラクル:運命の物語 Pocket Monsters Oracle: Tales of Fate) is a matched pair of Pokémon games for the Nintendo DS and the Nintendo 3DS. The storyline of Pokémon Oracle takes place in the past of the Pokémon world, approximately 250 years prior to the contemporary history of the Pokémon world. In order to fit with the time setting of the games, many elements of the main series games have been changed. The player character of the games begins as a young boy/girl living in a village within the Ventos region. For over hundreds of years the land of the Ventos region has been divided into different warring nations, each led by a lords. For centuries, war has ravaged the many kingdoms of the region and there has been much bloodshed. According to an ancient prophecy by the regional priest there will one day be a great hero who will rise and bring an end to the violence within Ventos. This legendary hero has come to be known as the Oracle due to them supposedly being able to predict the future. The player is then sent by their grandfather on a journey around the Ventos region to find the legendary Oracle and bring him/her back to the village so that they may quell the constant warring within their land. The quest of the player later goes on to be historically documented as the first ever Pokémon journey.
