The car's chassis is based on a modified version of the VH Platform that underpins the V8 Vantage. However the DB10 has a longer wheelbase and is nearly as wide as the One-77. It is powered by the Vantage's 4.7 L V8 engine.

Dans SPECTRE, à l'origine, l'Aston Martin DB10 n'était pas destinée à 007 mais à un autre agent 00 du MI6. Bien que rapide, l'intervention de la DB10 est sportive dans le film : après avoir "emprunté" la voiture dans le garage du MI6, James Bond se rend à Rome pour assister à la réunion de l'organisation criminelle SPECTRE. Découvert par la suite, il s'enfuit à bord de la voiture dans Rome poursuivi par M. Hinx dans sa Jaguar c-x75.
