In the years prior to 2381, Holl and her two children built a replica of a 22nd century Earth Cargo Service freighter from salvaged parts, which she named the Zirkiv. Holl hired the Zirkiv to tourists, as well as for regular cargo transport. In early 2381, as word first came that the Borg had invaded Federation space and were headed for Vulcan, Holl took aboard 269 residents of T'Khut. When T'Khut was destroyed in the invasion, Holl brought her passengers to Cor Caroli IX, but because of limited facilities and resources there, they could not offload for more than two months afterward.
