| abstract | - Tiras Lorin was once a great city of the Valeri, an ancient people of great knowledge and power on the planet of Elara. Though the Valeri race originated on another continent, they were great explorers and discovered many new lands. They set up colonies and established new kingdoms wherever they went. The word tiras is Valerian. Roughly translated into contemporary Common speech it means fort, stronghold, or walled city. In addition to normal towns and villages founded by the Valeri, numerous tiras were also established as military depots and safe havens, as well as major trade centers. The tiras were connected to other habitations by normal roads, but they were connected to each other by magical portals, allowing instantaneous travel between them. Tiras Lorin was built among great plains of fertile farmland in the midst of the continent of Phaara, far from the original Valeri homeland.
