He studied Character Animation at California Institute of the Arts (1997-1999), and St Xavier High School Louisville KY (1988-1992), and although not credited for his work, Shannon did provide a few pieces of concept art for How to Train Your Dragon. Shannon previously worked as a lecturer at Communications University of China (2009-2012), visual development and story artist at DreamWorks Animation (2006-2012), a character designer at Laika (2006-2007), a director, producer and designer at Cartoon Network (2005-2007), and lead character designer at Cartoon Network Studios (2005-2006).
