  • Warlocks' Convention of 1709
rdfs:comment
  • During the Convention, the participants decided to outlaw artificial dragon breeding, both because dragons could not be tamed and because wizards with pet dragons would be easily detected by Muggles. The decision was accepted as law, which was still in force two-hundred and eighty-three years later; much to the chagrin of Rubeus Hagrid, who would have liked to have a pet dragon. The Convention and this particular consequence were well-known by wizards in the twentieth century.
