Synopsis
  • Manhunter reveals that previously after he and the Blackadder fell from the train, the Blackadder had landed on the third rail and died. Manhunter switched costumes with him and pushed him off the bridge when the body was riddled with bullets. Manhunter then attacks Kobra who changes form into Mirage and then again into Cat-Man all the while getting brutalized. Manhunter wakens, bruised and battered, in a back alley dumpster. He tried to crawl towards his baton but doesn't get far before passing out. He has a flashback to a confrontation with John Economos where Mark angrily demands to see Amanda Waller but is told she's absent. Meanwhile Mark's family and Sylvia Kandrey sit at Rafael's waiting on Mark Shaw. It's a birthday dinner for him and he's very late. The family begins to suspect something's wrong and Sylvia calls Mark Felps who gives her the criminals Mark was last interested in. Sylvia narrows the suspects down to Mirage and the family decides to research Mark's computer in his apartment. Mark awakens and struggles a few feet before passing out again. He recalls his latest encounter arriving early at the disco where Mirage works as a DJ. However, when Mark goes to make the arrest Mirage uses his gem and the hallucinations disorient him long enough for Mirage to shoot him multiple times and leave him for dead in the dumpster. In Mark's apartment, Sylvia accesses Mark's files and learns the location of Mirage's club. She calls Lt. Best at home and asks him to send a squad to help but Sylvia and the Shaw clan are closer. Manhunter struggles some more recalling his father's fate. The family gets to the club and fans out with James finding some blood near the back door. The police arrive under the pretense of a bomb threat but Mirage immediately responds. James pops out the back door and finds Mark as Mirage appears in the alley. Sylvia arrives and distracts Mirage long enough for Mark, with James' help, to take Mirage down with a blast from his baton. The police arrest Mirage and Mark is taken to a hospital in serious but stable condition. Mark apologizes to Sylvia again but she promises they'll talk more after he gets better.
