Biography
  • Norm Palmer was a NASCAR driver from Torrance, CA. He competed in seven Sprint Cup Series events in his career, earning two top-tens. Palmer's debut came in 1977, when he competed at Riverside. Starting 13th in the field, Palmer had a respectable day and finished 23rd. He fared better at Riverside in June, finishing 6th after completing all but six laps, before finishing a struggling 34th at Ontario to end the year. Palmer's next start came in the 1978 season, when he competed at Riverside. Starting 10th in the field of thirty-five, Palmer lost his engine with just eight laps to go and finished 14th despite probably being in line for a higher finish. He also competed in the June event, crashing to last . Palmer's next start came during the 1979 season, when he competed yet again at Riverside. Starting 16th in the field of thirty-five, Palmer completed all but four laps in route to a solid 8th place finish. Palmer's final career start, though, waited until the 1985 season to occur. Not surprisingly, it was at Riverside. Starting 40th in the field of forty-two, Palmer sprung an oil leak and finished 39th. External Links *Stats
