For example, he may mold the chakra within his body to take on a wind nature, lightning nature, fire nature, earth nature, or water nature at a whim. This allows Shikizaki to unleash Elemental Techniques without the requisite handsigns, and allows him to unleash Elemental Ninjutsu from any part of his body, trapping his opponent. Also, this technique grants him a major boost in defense, especially against Gentle Fist users, as they may find it hard to penetrate an elemental chakra system which actively resists the Gentle Fist influence. This technique may also enhance the user's body to a greater extent than the Chakra Release Armours. This is because rather than using a set amount of chakra, the entire core of chakra within the user's body is being converted into its elemental variant (and forced to remain harmless within the user's body). By turning his chakra into different elemental natures, Shikizaki effectively creates an "Inner Cloak" which can strike his enemies without them knowing its source. For example, if he turned the chakra in his system to lightning, he can zap opponents in Taijutsu, burn people if it were converted into lightning, cut them as wind, so on and so forth. Against Elemental Techniques, by converting his Chakra into an element, he can freely release it at will, namely releasing a sufficient amount of fire chakra to counter a fire technique, for example. Since techniques cancel each other out if an equal amount clashes against it, this grants Shikizaki the ability to nullify most basic elemental nature attacks, allowing him and his clones to literally jump through Great Fire Annihilations unscathed by releasing the appropriate amount of fire chakra from all their tenketsu. This in turn makes it much harder for Shikizaki's clones to be destroyed, as few elemental techniques can take them down, especially since each of his clones possess an absurd amount of chakra.
