He was born in Spain, but lived in New York, United States till his death. He was officially verified on 25 July 2013, before his verification, James McCoubrey, Jokichi Ikarashi and Arturo Licata were believed to have been the oldest living men after Kimura's death. Licata became the oldest living man after Sanchez Blazquez died.
