| abstract | - Operation: London Bridge was a police based operation done by the Redwood City Police Department. Purposed by Chief Warren Peace, the goal was to prevent further infection on both sides of the Black River by blowing up all four bridges using large amounts of C4. The operation began the evening of February 10th, 1999, during the T-Virus Outbreak, and was declared a failure by Chief Warren Peace the following morning. The operation began when officers reached the four bridges and set up concrete and steel barricades, as well as using their own vehicles to block the bridges. One officer then placed the bomb down and began to activate it while the other officers defended the bomb specialist from infection. The bomb specialist then would activate it, causing a time to tick down and giving all officers enough time to leave the bridge. After the bridge was destroyed, the officers would return to police station. The following assignment was never revealed. All went according to plan, as the Hanson, the Walton, and the Singer Bridge all exploded. Though, the Crow Gate Bridge had a lot of troubles. The Crow Gate Bridge had no concrete or steel barricades, thus only the vehicles were used. The bomb was said to not stick right on the bridge, and finally a large bus breached the barricade causing infected to enter. The officers were all killed by the infected and the bomb remained deactivated with only a few wires left to activate it. The Crow Gate Bridge remained standing and thus the undead crossed into the Uptown District. The following morning, Police Chief Warren claimed the operation as a failure.
