He is known as the "Keeper of the Last Door" and is said to guard the spirits of the dead until the Rhanda Dhandra, the last battle of the Gods. His accoutrements are a silver harp, which he uses to tease the souls of the dead from their bodies and heavy iron key which opens the door to the Mirai, the underworld. He is owner of a host of Dark Pegasi, which guard the gate to the Underworld. According to legend, the Pegasi feed on both the bodies and souls of their victims.
  • Nethu, the son of Ereth Khial, is the gatekeeper of Mirai, the Elven Underworld. It is his task to see that those souls claimed by the Pale Queen remain sealed away until the hour of the Rhana Dhandra -- the last battle of the gods. It is also Nethu's duty to see that no intruder breaches the Mirai to steal away the secrets of the dead -- at least, not without offering a suitable tribute to the Pale Queen.[1a]

  • Nethu, the son of Ereth Khial, is the gatekeeper of Mirai, the Elven Underworld. It is his task to see that those souls claimed by the Pale Queen remain sealed away until the hour of the Rhana Dhandra -- the last battle of the gods. It is also Nethu's duty to see that no intruder breaches the Mirai to steal away the secrets of the dead -- at least, not without offering a suitable tribute to the Pale Queen.[1a] In this, the Keeper of the Last Door is aided by a host of Dark Pegasi, who watch unblinkingly from the battlements of his dark fortress, easily mistaken for statuary by the unwary. When roused, none are safe, for their shadowy maws consume soul-stuff as easily as mortal flesh.[1a]

Dark Elves make offerings to him in their rites to dead. He is also invoked by elves that seek to commune with the spirits of the deceased. There are legends of elves who have tricked Nethu and won access to the Mirai. There, these Elves have lived among the dead and learned some of their secrets. In Naggaroth, amulets of Nethu are believed to protect the wearer from disease. They are traditionally fashioned from bone and sinew.
