  • T95M "Doom Turtle" Super Heavy Tank
rdfs:comment
  • The design idea first appeared in 1943 when the US army needed a tank for smashing through the Siegfried Line defences. Of the 25 prototypes ordered, 2 were actually built and tested. They passed trials but were simply too late to enter the war. The prototypes were scrapped and forgotten. The tank saw little service due to it being such a specialized machine. It wasn't preforming as well as TAR had hoped. This ultimately led to a far more versatile tank, project Doom Cannon.

abstract
  • The design idea first appeared in 1943 when the US army needed a tank for smashing through the Siegfried Line defences. Of the 25 prototypes ordered, 2 were actually built and tested. They passed trials but were simply too late to enter the war. The prototypes were scrapped and forgotten. In 2525, ONI stated that they needed a tank for assaulting the Covenant positions at Harvest. Severeal armories, manufacturers, and military corporations began building prototypes for this cause as the highest bidder offered trillions of cR. TAR initiated project Doom Turtle to reconstruct a successful design; T95M. Although TAR didn't win the skewed military contest, they did complete a full working prototype T95M with armament and crew. This featured modernized armor as well as a better engine, gun, and even an AI. However, the curse of this machine still haunted manufacturers almost 600 years later; it didn't make it in time. The bidding went to the creation of the Rhino tank and the T95 once again was scrapped and left to decay. In 2557, UNSC stated they needed a new tank as they had discovered the new planet Requiem and it had an unknown Forerunner force capable of mass destruction. TAR once again restarted project "Doom Turtle" and aimed for the highest bidder. This time TAR gave the tank their new 155mm railgun for increased firepower. Once again the irony struck again as the tank arrived too late. The Didact was defeated and planet Requiem was destroyed. This time the T95M wasn't scrapped and instead was sent to the UNSC reserves incase the need for them arose once more. The tank saw little service due to it being such a specialized machine. It wasn't preforming as well as TAR had hoped. This ultimately led to a far more versatile tank, project Doom Cannon.
