  • The Terran National Autonomy Party, abbreviated TNAP was an Earth-based political party. Formed in 2493 in the aftermath of the news of the Far Isle Incident, the party's stated goal was to dismantle the Unified Earth Government and return Earth back to a planet of autonomous nations. The stated reason for this was that the party believed that once the UEG was completely dismantled, and with it what the organization described as the 'senseless bloodshed' of keeping the colonies united under one banner, each world would be free to forge its own destiny.

The party was never seen as anything more than a vocal minority, and never gained any seats in the UEG Parliament. With the advent of the Human-Covenant War, the party effectively ceased to exist as it became clear that humanity needed to stand united against the genocidal alien alliance. After the war came to an end and the UNSC began retaking colonies that had seceded, the party made a comeback, as they pointed out the operations as showing why the UEG was too dangerous to let survive, lest it have the temptation to intervene in the affairs of colonies. In the aftermath of the Created's operation to enforce its ideals across the galaxy, the TNAP's various local party operatives took advantage of the chaos to declare the independence of multiple nations on Earth. With the UEG effectively paralyzed from the technological attack, many became loyal to the new governments as one of the only sources of order. As the Created began forcibly putting down the nascent governments, the remaining survivors created resistance groups, killing those who aided the Created, and destroying facilities that could be used by the AI cabal to solidify its control.
