abstract
  • The collector, presumably of Reptilicus design, features two platforms usable by Samus, and is also part of a puzzle to unlock a hatch leading to the Grapple Swing. There are two sets of metal poles that connect the solar-energy collector to walls in the room; twisted into the shape of tunnels. The tunnels can be entered from the platforms on the collector via the Morph Ball. The tunnels end with a Bomb Slot, which Samus automatically enters. After using both Slots, one basin below will tip download and cause a thin stream of Fuel Gel to flow off the edge, and turn a circular emblem on the edge. This also removes one lock on a hatch in the Gateway, represented by two pairs of clawed hands grasping each other. As these are unlocked, the hands release their grip and curve. When both locks have been removed, the hatch will open, allowing Samus to continue.
