  • Building a shutter requires an axe (preferably a carving axe), 6 logs and 2 boards, as the shutter is built at the same time as the wall.
  • Shutter is a 2013 American remake of the 2008 American horror film of the same name. The remake was directed by Masayuki Ochiai, and was released on 2013.
  • Shutter is a 2004 Thai horror film by Banjong Pisanthanakun and Parkpoom Wongpoom. It focuses a on young couple, Tun and Jane, who, after being involved in a hit-and-run accident, find themselves menaced by the ghost of a young woman, who they discover to be called Natre, most prominently in mysterious and ghostly images seen in photographer Tun's developed pictures. It soon becomes clear that there is a lot more to these images and hauntings than meets the eye, however, and Tun himself is hiding many dark secrets...
  • Shutters (known as Metal Poles in Super Metroid) are a type of mid-room barrier that appear in Super Metroid, Metroid Fusion and Metroid: Zero Mission. They block progress (usually directly in front of a door or hall) until an upgrade or path around them is found. If Samus has the Wave Beam, it will penetrate the barrier and can open it from the "wrong side". In Super Metroid, there is also one special type of shutter. Green lighted shutters indicate a Super Missile. Also in Super Metroid, when Samus acquires the Hyper Beam, she can destroy shutters with one shot.

Instead, she must wait for the Space Pirates to lose sight of her, at which point they will automatically open.
