  • The Genesis Wave is a phenomenon created using the energies of a Chaos Emerald to rewrite reality. The technology, centered around the Cosmic Reset Button was developed by Dr. Eggman, and has been used by him both alone and in alliance with Dr. Wily to alter Sonic's World on two occasions and Earth 20XX once. A supercharged variation made possible with the power of all seven Emeralds is called the Super Genesis Wave.
  • The Genesis Wave was an immensely powerful protomatter beam that affects everything it touches, causing the Genesis Effect. All existing matter is reorganized at the subatomic level into life-generating matter of equal mass. The beam affects everything, stars, planets, according to how the beam is programmed. This is done using vast computer resources even before the beam is fired. (ST novel: The Genesis Wave, Book 1)
  • The Genesis Wave was a cataclysmic event in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic book universe involving the maniacal scientist Dr. Eggman creating a device that could rewrite reality itself, and the event resulted in a near-instant retcon of the planet Mobius and its inhabitants: this calamity would be followed by the even more deadly Super Genesis Wave when Eggman teamed up with fellow power-hungry madman Dr. Wily to rewrite reality on a multiversal scale.
  • However, Eggman had prepared a second stage to Operation: Clean Sweep in case the first didn't work. By altering reality, he undid the immunity against roboticization set by the Bem, and he had a giant roboticizer installed in his Death Egg to roboticize everyone in the planet. Regardless of the roboticization working or not, if someone attempts to roboticize something that's already mechanical, it would explode. Therefore, Eggman would be the only person with technology available, destroying all machines from his enemies, and although it would destroy his forces outside of the Death Egg as well, if the roboticizer worked, he would have millions of robot slaves to serve as replacements. Sonic and Sally managed to destroy his roboticizer, but at the cost of Sally being roboticized. Eggman o

Sonic and Sally managed to destroy his roboticizer, but at the cost of Sally being roboticized. Eggman ordered Mecha Sally to throw Sonic out of the Death Egg. Later, Eggman was informed that the blue Chaos Emerald used in the Genesis Wave disappeared, and that the Death Egg was damaged and low on power, forcing Eggman to retreat.
