| abstract | - Yarukka's parents Rorwawarr and Mikkatuk, were typical Wookiees who lived a quiet life in the treetop villages of Kashyyyk. They were happy and dreamed of one day having Wookiee children and expanding their family. When it was discovered that Mikkatuk was with child, they were overjoyed and the entire village eagerly awaited the day the young Wookiee would be born. When that day finally came, however, things took a turn for the worse: young Yarukka was born an albino...an unfortunate trait. Yarukka was immediately labeled an outcast because of his white fur and was taken to the Shadowlands to be left for dead. Had it not been for his mother, he would surely have died in a matter of minutes in the dangerous jungles of Kashyyyk. Mikkatuk refused to leave her child for dead, despite the pressure placed on her by the entire village. Even Rorwawarr tried to convince Mikka to leave Yarukka behind but she would have none of it. As a result, mother and child were left in the Shadowlands; exiles never to be allowed to return to the upper levels again. Life in the Shadowlands was hard for the two, but they managed to eke out a living for the next twenty years without incident. Though as they to often do, things took a turn for the worse. One day, while Yarukka was out hunting, their home was attacked by several large creatures and Mikkatuk was killed. Yarukka came too late and could find no trace of his mother or the creatures anywhere. After twenty years in the dangerous jungle with his mother, he was alone. He gave up all hope and took to aimlessly wandering alone for days at a time. It was during one of these solitary journeys that he stumbled upon a group of slavers that had set up a secret base in one of the less dangerous sections of the jungle. Yarukka fought ferociously, but was eventually subdued and taken as a slave. They put Yaruuka on a ship with several other Wookiees they had captured and were in route to the Outer Rim to put their new acquisitions on the auction block when the Wookiees revolted. Led by Yarukka, the Wookiees worked together to free themselves and over powered the slavers. Unfortunately, they could not pilot the ship and just managed to crash land on Tatooine. Once there, Yarukka turned on his fellow Wookiees and went into a rage. Attacking with the fury of one who was abandoned by his own people, he killed the other Wookiees and set out on his own, bent on making a life for himself as far away from Kashyyyk as he could be.
