  • Peggy (2017 character)
rdfs:comment
  • Peggy was a friend of Steph Britton's who called to see her one night in January 2017 to offload on her after a boyfriend had dumped her. Robert Preston snapped at Steph that he didn't pay her to sit around and gas. Peggy, oblivious to his manner, was taken with his looks and asked Steph if he was single. Steph initially wasn't impressed with the thought of her friend hooking up with her boss but then changed her mind and persuaded the two to go on a date together. Robert was reluctant as, unknown to the lady herself, he had fallen with love with Michelle Connor but he nevertheless went along with the idea.

The date began in the bistro. Two two chatted Peggy told Robert that her mother had named her after the singer Peggy Lee but they felt uncomfortable as they were under the constant interested surveillance of the staff there. Robert suggested they move on somewhere else but rejected outright the idea of the Rovers, knowing that Michelle would be behind the bar. Outside the bistro, Peggy leant in for a kiss but Robert went cold on her, confessing to his unrequited love, though not the name of the subject of it. Peggy walked off, telling a puzzled Steph afterwards in the pub what had happened as Michelle listened on.
