  • To The Settling Of It All
rdfs:comment
  • Running as fast as he could, Gaillardia Nagareboshi retreated into the small forest near the beach. Nope; nada, zero, zip, zilch. There was absolutely nothing here; kinda like Lismore but with more trees, grass, and rocks. And fewer tools, but that was beside the point. Gai really didn't know where he was going with this comparison anymore. Trudging around, the Mototsu-Seishin hybrid noticed a faint surge of energy in the distance which was closing in a mile a minute. This figure marched forward with enigmatic intent. Whether it was because of the pain from being in that cat fight, or because he had focused his awareness to allow himself to stand in the presence of this foe, Gai's breathing was ragged as he gazed straight at his foe, who approached emotionlessly.

From the width of the figure's shoulders, this was the body of a teenager, completely covered in an armour-like organic-looking bodysuit without any opening. But it was different from the blinding crimson armour wrapping Gai's Bankai or the luxurious golden one of Kazuma's Bankai. Some parts of the bodysuit were black; without any delicate ornament, with no polished luster. Like darkness, like hell, it was just a bottomless black. The face was also invisible, covered with a brilliant silver helmet covered with dark glass. Behind that glass, there was the ghastly glow of a pair of golden eyes with a glare burning like a flame. This black knight definitely didn't have any of the "radiance" that the others did; the newly appeared black knight had none of it. The darkness around the bodysuit definitely held an oppressive feeling, and their left arm was encased in a huge metal cylinder with a lock to hide something. Ah, shit. It was this guy again. "W-Who the hell are you!? Answer me this time!" The armour with the colour of darkness showed no characteristic feature- it wasn't just that there were no details to see; it was all blurred. No matter how carefully he would watch, Gai just couldn't accurately perceive this foe's figure. Just like an off-focus photograph, the outlines of the black armour were always shifting, like a mist, and Gai could sometimes see it double or triple. Somehow, the material seemed to be made out of a hallucination. "…You, you already know now. But, you cannot remember it yet." Gai snapped, "…Tch! Don't fuck around with me, got that!? Now, tell me!" Underneath that helmet, the figure smirked. "My, my. From such a small seed, you've definitely grown exponentially and become a tree which houses the desires of those close to you." Gai gritted his teeth, hissing, "Don't you dare play around with me, understand?" Raising their arm to the side, the figure amassed darkness upon their right hand, which expanded and solidified, summoning a unique broadsword, having a black blade, with crimson trim around the blade. The hilt and cross-guard were a brilliant silver, and the cross-guard had two crimson crosses sticking out from the sides. There was a triangle sticking out from the cross-guard, which grew in size, growing upwards slightly, making a sort of triangle as seen from the side, slightly covering the cross-guard. This 'triangle' had a golden gem in the middle and crimson sides with air vents, similar to a knight's helmet. The grip was black and the pommel had three rouge spikes on it. This was the χ-Caliber, a sword of myth. It was so unlike anything Gai had seen before; to the point that it seemed almost unnatural. As if by instinct, the Mototsu-Seishin hybrid instantly raised his left arm, as light amassed and converged upon his palm, before said light broke down into spiritual particles which dispersed for the briefest of moments, leaving Gai grasping naught but a cluster of spiritual atoms. As if instinctually, the spiritual energy converged upon his left arm once again, rejoining with the mass of atoms. In an instant, that spiritual energy coated his entire hand, before trailing up his arm in a spiraling pattern. Gai felt an unusual feeling welling up inside of him, as his soul reacted with his Zanpakutō, unleashing a peculiar power unlike any other seen before. This spiritual energy solidified and synchronized with this unusual power, as his arm underwent a mutation. Gone was the uncanny presence of such a deformity, which gave birth to a sleek, thin jet-black arm which was clad in armour and possessed razor-sharp claws. At his scapula-joint, it possessed a cyan, supernatural glow which fashioned itself into a large phoenix-like flaming wing. Upon the back of his hand, there was the kanji for "light" (光). It seemed that this was the true form of Gaikaōtori. Pointing at his foe, Gai Nagareboshi declared, "Now…Yatte yaruze, Gaikaōtori!" Without any further hesitation, Gai Nagareboshi and his foe leapt at each other, tearing up the ground as they moved. Fist and sword clashed with such ferocity that each time their blows connected, they released small shockwaves from their bodies which tore up the landscape. Gai's eyes sharpened and focused on the eyes within that demonic helmet which showed no luster. Gai noted to himself, "This person…has such beautiful, kind eyes…Yet, for some reason, they really look…incredibly sad." His contemplating was cut off rather abruptly, as the pommel of his foe's blade slammed into his chest, causing him to take several steps back, clutching his chest in slight pain. Growling, Gai Nagareboshi amassed and converged spiritual energy upon his left arm, which reacted with his psychic powers, turning a vibrant golden. This energy trailed around in the rotating wheels upon his gauntlet which quickly picked up speed to seem as if the wheels were moving at the speed of sound. Gai declared, "This hand of mine glows with an awesome power." In an instant, the golden energy converged at a single point upon his fist. "It's burning grip tells me to defeat you!" The Mototsu-Seishin hybrid's gaze sharpened, as he finished, "Now, here I go! Shining Onslaught!" The time was ripe to unveil this new rendition of his signature technique. Tearing through the air towards his foe, Gai's fist caused friction with the hydrogen in the air, culminating in a medium-sized explosion that resounded through the area, knocking his foe back with incredible force. However, it seemed as if the enigmatic figure before him was perfectly unharmed despite the ferocity of such a power, and just to prove it, they waltzed forward as if all of Gai's attacks did jack to them. Gai bared his sharp incisors towards his foe. As Gai closed and reopened his eyes, his right eye had permanently become a slitted golden with crimson sclera, and white purgatorial flames travelled up his left arm, forming several scar-like markings. A fang-like marking formed underneath his right eye, as a vicious maelstrom of snow-white flames surrounded his body. These flames expanded and compressed, before solidifying. These flames were similar to the rain. All the rain drops hit a predetermined place, based on wind and such. They congregate together to and flow; eventually making a stream; that was fate. The vicious fire shaped itself, and in a burst of black spiritual energy, Gai's new form emerged. Spiky jagged protrusions appeared all over his clothing. His torso also gained black, leathery armour with a red tattoo on his chest. Two curves; facial markings formed upon his cheeks, each with multiple juts coming out as they ran down his face; akin to scars, as a tail protruded from his back. Two crimson, demonic wings tore out from his back. Snarling like a wild beast, he twitched, disappearing instantaneously. This was Ruination Break.
