HistoryText
  • Ducky Leatherpants, described by one of his comrades as "camp as Christmas but good as gold", was in fact anything but good. One of the Robo-Hunters trapped on Verdus along with Sam C Slade by vengeful robots including Slade's former assistant Cutie, the insectoid Leatherpants turned out to be a traitor, a vicious killer who murdered his colleague Doc Magnet and tried to kill Sam before meeting a suitably unpleasant end.

Notes
  • An obvious homophobic stereotype of a predatory and deeply effeminate gay man clearly modelled on one of the Village People, who turns out to be a cold-hearted villain who has been stringing his comrades along for weeks while plotting to do away with them, Ducky was possibly one of the most offensive characters ever to appear in 2000 AD. This may explain why Return to Verdus, the Robo-Hunter story in which he appeared, has never been reprinted. .
