His master was Salon Trisea, the man who had found him. They went on many missions together and solved many problems. Soon, they became known to other Jedi across the Jedi Temple most notably, the High Council. Mace Windu, a good friend of Kylan's master thought that one day, Kylan would replace Cin Drallig as Jedi Battlemaster. To this end, Kylan started receiving training from the Battlemaster. In 28 BBY, four years after the Trade Federation Crisis, the Jedi began to receive word of another Mandalorian Uprising on Concord Dawn led by a man named Barkuun. Barkuun and his Mandalorian army had taken control of half the planet and Mace Windu sent a Jedi Taskforce known today as the Taskforce of Dawn, to stop the Mandalorians. Windu placed Trisea in charge of the taskforce which included Kylan and they set off. The Mandalorians would refuse to negotiate and threatened the Jedi to get off this planet. Trisea however, led a small group of Jedi including Kylan, and they freed the government. After, all out war ensued in which the government was destroyed. The Jedi did battle on Dawn for 10 days straight! Near the conclusion of the battle where there had been 500 Mandalorians, there were now 10 and where there had been 300 Jedi, there were now 5 left standing including Kylan and his master. Eventually Kylan engaged in a duel with Barkuun but, a severe blow put him out of commission. Trisea, thinking he was dead, defeated Barkuun and fled with the three other Jedi. After that, Kylan was captured by the Mandalorians and tortured for fun. They did various horrible things to the poor 16 year old. During his time in imprisonment, Kylan's hatred grew for both the Mando's and the Jedi. One day, in 24 BBY, Kylan was successfully able to escape from the Mandalorians. As he left he destroyed their base killing more Mandalorians in the process. The young man then returned to his homeworld of Seartrist, and claimed his place as heir to the throne by secretly killing his mother and brother. He then took his place in the Senate as Senator. At one point, the fallen Jedi met Count Dooku who had become Darth Tyranus. Dooku offered Saes a chance to teach him in the way of the dark side as one of Dooku's Dark Jedi and Kylan accepted. He set up a stronghold on Geonosis and took his place in the Seperatist movement as Dooku's assassin. In 22 BBY as the Clone Wars began, Kylan confronted his old master on several occassions along with his new apprentice, Alex Matthews. At the end of the war in 19 BBY, Kylan was left alone when Dooku and Grievous were both killed by Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi respectfully. As the Great Jedi Purge erupted, Kylan focused on killing a man named Arrun Faran. After many years in which he had several more ecounters with Alex Matthews who had survived the Purge, Saes alligned himself and the clone he had secretly made of Alex, Hunter, to Alex himself, his two apprentices, and another clone of Alex named Blade. They tracked Faran all over the galaxy until he made his last stand on Kamino. Afterwards, Kylan who, in traveling with Alex, had realized his mistake for becoming a Dark Jedi. So he pledged himself as Alex's fourth apprentice. After that, Kylan accompanied Alex on many more adventures in which they gained new allies, and found out that Alex was an experiment! Alex went on to form the Cathros Jedi Order in which Kylan and his fellow apprentices joined immediantly. Saes eventually became the first Jedi Master, other than Alex, in the Order. When the Empire was defeated, Kylan supported Alex's decision to allign with Luke Skywalker's Jedi Order. Kylan also took on an apprentice named Taralan Fane and also taught Alex's son Tristan for a while as well. He participated in the many battles after that including the Yuuzhan Vong War. After the Yuuzhan Vong War, it took a toll on Saes and he retired from the Cathros Jedi Order and went back to his home of Seartrist for the remainder of his life, still promising Alex that he would advise students of his Order if they came to him. Kylan Saes later died of old age in 33 ABY on Seartrist.
