  • Doro has many traditions such as their year-renewal festival. On the last day of the year the whole village comes together for a day of mourning, to comemorate the passing of anyone within the last year. It is common for communal hymns to be sung throughout the day and the villagers wear black. They hang black lanterns outside their door at night before retiring for bed. These two days are considered days of rest and no ninja are sent out on missions during this time. Only a small number of volunteers gaurd the village during the festival.

The second day of the renewal festival is the first day of the new year. This day is a celebration of happiness to come. In the morning adults will wake up early and replace the black lantern with a red one. They tell the children that this is a sign that all their loved ones are happy in the afterlife. A large tent is set up in case of rain, and inside paper lanterns are hung, the whole area is decorated with flowers and fans, and the tent is full of game and food stands. The second night of the festival is spent in happiness and celebration. These two days are considered days of rest and no ninja are sent out on missions during this time. Only a small number of volunteers gaurd the village during the festival. Other less organized traditions are also practiced in Doro. Those who leave the village for any amount of time will embed a kunai with a piece of cloth tied to the handle in the frame of the front gate. When they return, they remove the kunai. This is parcticed by ninja and civilians alike to make sure that they remember all of their friends, no matter how far away they are.
