- "What do you think, Maester? Will Lord Kevan risk his men to defend House Goldfoot?"
- "We should send Lord Kevan our own petition, citing House Goldfoot's crimes against us."
- When you return, Maester Lucas reads the letter. "The question is, does Lord Kevan mean his promise of support? Or was it an expedient thing to say?"
- "It's gone too far. If we retreat, Goldfoot will retaliate," Jon says, but Ella wavers. "Lord Kevan still commands a great army. Should we risk it?"
- Rona frowns, worried. "All I've heard from Jayne is that Queen Cersei returned to the Red Keep. Lord Kevan has taken over all governing."
- "This letter is from a maester," Maester Lucas observes. "Kevan probably left orders with his maester before he left to be King's Hand."
