The film was acclaimed by critics and was extremely successful at the box office. A spiritual sequel, called Ghost Chronicles, was released in October 30, 2010. With Jiro's fatality, the Alpha killed, and the Covenant's Legions scattered and confused, the long and dreadful Blood War subsequently came to a complete end.
