  • David Sosebee (December 8, 1955 - ) is a former NASCAR driver from Dawsonville, GA. He competed in ten Sprint Cup Series events in his career. He is the son of Gober Sosebee. Sosebee's initial foray into the sport came during the 1979, when he drove for his father in three races. However, it was a horrible year for the young driver, as he failed to finish any of his races. An early engine failure at Michigan in his debut left Sosebee 28th, followed up by a crash to 27th at Charlotte and another engine issue coupled with a 33rd place run at Atlanta. Sosebee would not return to the sport for another seven years, returning with a two-race deal for the 1986. Starting 30th in the field of forty-two at Charlotte, Sosebee found his luck was no better than years earlier, with a crash leaving him 34th. Another trip to Atlanta only added to the driver's misery, with Sosebee finishing 36th with a broken wheel bearing. Sosebee returned with a three-race deal in 1987 with Roger Hamby, the year Hamby finished a career-high 61st in the year end points. Sosebee started off well enough, making his first ever career Daytona 500 and completing all but sixteen laps to finish in 28th. Despite a crash to 39th at Rockingham the next week, Sosebee closed out the year with a career-best 21st place showing at his hometown track in Atlanta. Sosebee would then make his final two career starts during the 1988, but again slid back to miserable inconsistency. Clutch issues left the driver 28th at Atlanta, followed up by an ignition issue that left Sosebee in 31st at Michigan. Sosebee would never race again.
