  • Water comes in at high tide, up past a certain level. at this certain level, there are gates and turbines and stuff. when the water goes past, it moves the turbines (big ceiling-fan-like things attached to motor-like things) and moving turbines generates electricity. then after high tide is over, and the water starts to flow back down out to the sea, it moves the turbines again as it leaves, which generates more electricity by moving the turbines.
