- Maester Lucas enters the room in shock. "We've word from Ser Hugo. King Joffrey is dead. Poisoned at his own wedding feast."
- "They've said nothing yet, but Ser Hugo says there's to be a trial." He shakes his head. "Lord Tyrion, judged by Lord Tywin. It's a shameful day."
- "What do the Lannisters ask of us?"
- The Maester nods. "Ser Hugo had no word, but who else could it be? Joffrey has no other heir -- he never even had a chance to bed his new wife."
- "We will avenge our king. Even if it's the Imp's blood that must flow."
- "Tommen will be a better king. Dutiful. And not cruel."
- "I won't believe Lord Tyrion killed Joffrey! He would never turn against his own blood."
- "That's the worst of it, my [lady/lord]. It's lion fighting lion. Lord Tyrion has been arrested for the crime."
