A rather brusque individual, he was not afraid to speak his mind when dealing with superior officers and he was respected by his subordinates rather than admired. In crafting the tactical doctrine for Force Recon units as well as their organization and training, he proved to be a competent, if somewhat demanding, taskmaster. With the successful implementation of his units, Jessup was promoted to captain and, eventually, rear admiral. For the rest of his military career he oversaw his beloved Force Recon, finally retiring a few years shy of the outbreak of the Mandalorian Wars.
