It was primarily created as the area for a massively multiplayer online game (MMO), which featured interaction with the Tamagotchi Music Star. Since the release of the TamaTown Tama-Go, Music City has been renamed TamaTown. The game was closed to public on February 6, 2013. Music City contained a range of online games and activities. Throughout the different areas, players could purchase items for their apartment and online avatar, and chat with others. A Tamagotchi wasn't required in order to enter the game, but passwords acquired from the Music Star or Tama-Go could be used to access additional features.
