When the bisharp recovered he found that unlike most pokemon it could speak, it revealed that it was forced to evolve and was only a level five at the time. Feeling pitty he gave the bisharp a pokeball and some berries from his crop. The Bisharp that he named Chopper willingly entered the Pokeball and became Michael's first Pokémon. Arduous training began with both of them walking up the mountain with a bag full of bricks, the duo passed the sixty mile mark in under twelve hours and they returned. When they arrived back home a group of team flare grunts were there. A fight ensued and Bisharp beat two other pokemon that were forced to evolve, a Sharpedo and cammerupt, but unlike Chopper they could not speak. Michael again restored them and visited the professor, after two weeks of tests sycamore concluded that this machine was very similar to the one from three thousand years ago. Michael went on a journey and on the way rescued a Togekiss who joined his team again this one could not speak. When confronted by team flare pierce was the first to offer to fight and won.
