  • During the turbulent events of the Fourth Shinobi World War, it became painfully apparent that the safety of a nation's leader was paramount. As such, in the wake of the conflict, Tenkūgakure implemented the creation of a unit solely dedicated to the protection of their country's daimyo and his family. However, due to the fact that the original incarnation of Zuijin was composed of ANBU personnel whom were completely devoted to their Kage, the division soon came to include the Eiyōkage and his family under their umbrella of protection. The fact that there was an extended period of peacetime following the Fourth Shinobi World War, and the fact that Tenkūgakure typically remained neutral during global conflicts, led to Zuijin becoming a stagnant division for a period of time. As such, an additional purpose was applied to the unit: the hunting down and elimination of all defectors. These "prey", due to the nature of the Hidden Heavens Village, could range anywhere from the most skilled missing-nin to the most simple sellswords. As such, the unit undergoes the most rigorous of training routines on a regular basis, as they must be prepared for anything.
