Synopsis
  • While out on the town, Carol Ferris is drawn to the police station where they have items from unsolved crimes on display. Upon seeing the Star Sapphire, Carol is transformed once more into the Zamaronian princess Star Sapphire. Still wanting to prove her superiority over the Green Lantern, she uses her powers to slow down Green Lantern's sense of time while she takes down the 'Copter Gang. Taking the credit, she get a commendation from the chief of police in front of the Green Lantern. To further make Green Lantern look bad, Star Sapphire creates an apparent alien menace that attacks Coast City, and then "destroys" the aliens when Green Lantern gets close to learning the truth. Confronted by Star Sapphire, she demands that Green Lantern marry her, however Green Lantern refuses to do so unless she can unmask him figuring that since he is protected by the energy of his power ring nobody but himself can take off his mask. However, Star Sapphire manages to best him by following Hal back to his dressing room at the Ferris Aircraft Company, and using her powers to make Green Lantern's power battery remove his mask for her. Unmasked, Hal agrees to marry Star Sapphire but first he wants to see who she is. Unmasking her as Carol Ferris causes Carol to change back to normal with no memory of what had transpired. Probing her mind with his power ring, Green Lantern learns that the whole episode was a ruse played out by Star Sapphire to trick him into marrying her.
  • Over at Pieface and Terga's home for supper one night, Hal relates to Pieface of another one of his adventures for his casebook: Explaining how one day he was apparently attacked by Abin Sur, the alien who gave him his Green Lantern power ring, however it turned out to be an illusion. Stranger still, Hal found himself shurnk down to a world within his power ring where Abin Sur had banished the alien wizard known as Myrwhydden. Unable to get revenge on the deceased Abin, Myrwhydden has decided to target Hal Jordan instead. Beleiving Hal was powerless without his power ring on his finger, Myrwhydden is soon defeated when Hal is able to command his power ring to change the rock Myrwhydden is about to throw on him into a balloon that carries him to a lethal height. Proving once again that even though he wasn't wearing his power ring, Green Lantern can still command it.
