  • In 2377, during the Romulans' brief conflict with the Watraii, she approached the Federation with demands for reparations for their the loses in the Dominion War. (TOS novel: Vulcan's Soul: Exiles) In late 2379, T'Kala attended a diplomatic function at Lunasphere Artemis on Luna with Federation President Min Zife. She suggested to Zife that the replacement of the Klingon Ambassador indicated the situation on Tezwa was costing the Federation more than Zife realized. (TNG novel: A Time to Heal) T'Kala was in office during the coup launched by Shinzon of Remus, which led to the breakup of the Romulan Star Empire. She remained in her position after Tal'Aura assumed the position of Praetor. Following the coup, T'Kala claimed that Romulan Archpriest Tamok would travel to the Federation to meet with the newly-elected Federation President, Nanietta Bacco, and Federation Council. When it was learned Tamok never intended to travel to Earth, a minor scandal erupted, which many in the press unfairly blamed on the Palais de la Concorde Travel Office, though it was believed T'Kala had intentionally misled the Federation. In early 2380, with Romulus still engulfed in political chaos, T'Kala committed ritual suicide with her honor blade in the Romulan Embassy on Earth. (ST novel: Articles of the Federation)
