  • Decals are rewards, similar to achievements, used to signify the number of StarCraft II games a player has won. They appear on and around buildings and on at least some units. Decals used with the protoss have a circle around them, and are player color. Decals used by the zerg are displayed on the creep surrounding a hatchery. As of Patch 3.7, worker units have the ability to spray decals on the battlefield. Each player can spray their decal up to five times.
  • A decal (/ˈdiːkæl/, /dɨˈkæl/, or /ˈdɛkəl/) or transfer is a plastic, cloth, paper or ceramic substrate that has printed on it a pattern or image that can be moved to another surface upon contact, usually with the aid of heat or water. The word is short for decalcomania. The word decalcomania is derived from the French word decalquer, and was coined by Simon François Ravenet about 1750; it became widespread during the decal craze of the late 19th century.
  • A decal is a type of decoration in Club Penguin Island that can be applied to clothing made in the Clothing Customizer. A decal can be applied to certain parts of a piece of clothing, and it causes the decal to appear within the portion it is applied to, and can be placed in a specific location. Decals can also be magnified or rotated when applied to clothing in the customizer. There is also the option of either having only one of the decal appear, or having the decal tiled across the portion. Only one decal and/or fabric can be applied to a portion of clothing at a time.
  • A decal is a special type of graphics that is applied atop another surface, such as a wall. For technical reasons related to the design of the Doom rendering engine, applying decals to floors and ceilings in Doom is harder to implement than applying them to walls. Decals can be used in two different fashion:
  • Decal is composed of the following layers from top to bottom: 1. * A paper or film facestock makes up the top layer of the labelstock. The printing is done on the upper side of the face stock. 2. * An adhesive layer is applied to the bottom of the face stock. 3. * A silicone or release coating layer is applied to the upper side of the backing material. 4. * A paper or film liner provides the bottom layer of the labelstock.

  • A decal is a special type of graphics that is applied atop another surface, such as a wall. For technical reasons related to the design of the Doom rendering engine, applying decals to floors and ceilings in Doom is harder to implement than applying them to walls. Decals can be used in two different fashion: * Manually in a map editor. This allows to place graphical elements to a wall that could not have it otherwise, such as for example a poster spread across two different wall textures. This allows to reduce the need to define texture variants. * Automatically by the engine, typically to leave blood stains, bullet holes and scorch marks.
Different variations of decals include: water-slide or water-dip; and vinyl peel-and-stick. A water-slide (or water-dip) decal is screen-printed on a layer of water-soluble adhesive on a water-resistant paper, that must first be dipped in water prior to its application.. Upon contact with water, the glue is loosened and the decal can be removed from its backing; overly long exposure, however, dissolves the glue completely causing the decal to fail to adhere. A peel-and-stick decal is actually not a decal as described above, but a vinyl sticker with adhesive backing, that can be transferred by peeling off its base.
