| abstract | - A Vice Admiral in the People's Navy by 1912 PD, Ellen Shalus was assigned to command a task force in the then-recently established Twelfth Fleet under Admiral Javier Giscard, a force assembled by the People's Republic's Secretary of War, Admiral Esther McQueen, to launch an offensive against the Alliance called Operation Icarus. Her People's Commissioner during her stint in Twelfth Fleet was Randal. Vice Admiral Shalus was placed in command of Task Force 12.1 for an attack against the Manticoran picket at the Seaford Nine System. Shalus' attack succeeded beyond expectations, as her task force almost completely destroyed the Allied picket group which guarded the system in what would become known as the Second Battle of Seaford Nine. (HH8) After Operation Icarus, Vice Admiral Shalus was reassigned to the Octagon to serve as Admiral Ivan Bukato's deputy. She was replaced in Twelfth Fleet's command structure by Vice Admiral John Groenewold. (HH9)
