| abstract | - The Ninth Clique was a CAW stable in New-WWE under the Raw brand. It consisted of leader Dylan Connell, and underlings Cawsplash and Matt Metamorphis. The group formed on the February 1st edition of Superstars; Dylan was set to compete against nemesis El Jefe in a singles match. Dylan refused to compete against Jefe one-on-one, and brought out Cawsplash and Matt Metamorphis (both making their debuts). The three defeated El Jefe in a 3-on-1 handicap match, following a massive powerbomb by Cawsplash. Interestingly, instead of going for the pin himself, Cawsplash tagged in Dylan and allowed him to score the pinfall over his rival. The trio competed at Extreme Rules against the team of Adolf Hitler, The Miz, and El Jefe. The Clique ended up losing by a complete blowout, unable to eliminate any of them. Later The Ninth Clique (represented by Dylan and Matt) competed in the World Tag Team Championship Tournament, but were defeated by Hitler and Chris Johansen in the first round. After engaging in a short feud with Brent Harvanator and Kage, The Ninth Clique earned an opportunity at the now vacant World Tag Team Championship. Cawsplash and Dylan Connell defeated Kage and Harvanator, earning The Ninth Clique the World Tag Team Championship. Their reign ended up being one of the longest Tag Team Championship reigns in New-WWE history. Shortly after a successful defense against Kage and Harvanator at WrestleMania V, the trio split up following Metamorphis and Cawsplash's growing frustration with Dylan Connell's repeated losses. During a title defense against CAW All The Time, Matt Metamorphis refused to come to the ring, leading to Cawsplash having to defend the titles alone. CAW All The Time defeated Cawsplash, ending the reign of The Ninth Clique. On the following Raw, Matt defeated Cawsplash in a Loser Leaves match, ending Cawsplash's New-WWE career. Metamorphis and Connell wrestled eachother at Backlash 3, and Connell ended up victorious. Shortly afterward, Metamorphis was released from New-WWE as well.
