- The Peddler (sometimes called "Dealer") is a supernatural entity, likely a demon, who entered a contract with Anne Wickham in the late 1600s. Later, he may have influenced Anne's descendants in order to increase chances of them defaulting on their obligations, which would entitle him to get not only their souls, but also everything else they amassed. He helped Lady Jettatura in her attempt to defeat the Green Witch (the last Wickham descendant under the contract) by selling her the demon who had previously killed Graywolf. Likewise, he is suspected to have played a part in influencing Spencer Chase with the Nighthag's Ba stone, in order to attempt opening the Green Witch's vault. He presents himself as a short, unimpressive man with a long and sad face, a big nose a small mouth. He wears time-appropriate clothing suiting the role he plays -- of an unrefined salesman. In the 1600s, that was brown homespun clothing and a merchandise knapsack; in the early 21st century, the garish clothes you would see in an used-car salesman.
