  • The 36th Division is also known as the Ga'ash (English: Rage) Division. It is the largest regular-service armored division in the IDF. Established in 1954, the division drew together several veteran brigades that had fought in the War of Independence (1948). The division has fought in all of Israel's wars - the Sinai Campaign (1956), the Six Day War (1967), the Yom Kippur War (1973), and the Lebanon War (1982). The division is subordinate to the Northern Regional Command.
