  • Lieutenant Secar Dunnigal was a Human male who served in the Republic Navy prior to and during the Mandalorian Wars. Assigned to the Interdictor-class cruiser Wrangler, he followed Revan when the Jedi Knight took his fleet into the Unknown Regions after the victory at Malachor V. At the outbreak of the Jedi Civil War, Dunnigal continued to serve as the sensor officer aboard Wrangler, then commanded by the Dark Jedi Xaset Terep. However, in the wake of a skirmish in the Upestis system during which Wrangler came off worse, Terep lost control and began slaughtering the crew indiscriminately. Teaming up with Lieutenant Commander Josef Farfax and a company of Sith troopers who had formerly served the Galactic Republic, he confronted and defeated the Dark Jedi, losing his left eye during the battle that took place in the warship's hangar deck. Eventually, as the surviving crew recovered from the infighting that resulted from Terep's death, Dunnigal and Farfax convinced them to return to the Republic. Placing the damaged and undermanned Wrangler on the Corellian Run, they successfully interdicted Battleaxe, surrendering to the Republic warship and agreeing to accompany it to its intended destination and mission. Upon rendezvousing with the fleet under the command of Vice Admiral Forn Dodonna, Dunnigal and Farfax coordinated with Jedi Master Kavar, Captain Laera ReyolĂ©, Major Ethan Decamp, and Lieutenant Silas Dan'kre to bring their vessel back up to fighting shape. It was during this time that Farfax and Dunnigal learned of their own sensitivity to the Force.
