The script eventually went through almost the entire writing staff of Deep Space Nine before production began on "Civil Defense", due to Michael Piller's rejection of the script. In the end, sole credit for the teleplay was given to Krohn. (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Companion) Krohn's only other writing credit was the 1995 TV movie "Ed McBain's 87th Precinct: Lightning", which included Deep Space Nine performers Christopher Darga and Tracy Middendorf in its cast.
