In January 2008, the man was finally identified as a missing man named Andrew Bookless. He was identified as the young boy in the photograph after a woman recognized the building in the background as being the house was where he and his family lived in the 60s. The man that was holding him was his grandfather, and the investigators learned that his parents had died, but his siblings were still alive and notified of his death.
