  • The distant past was that period which was historically remote to the Doctor's usual travels. It had no exact date range, but could be considered to extend from the Big Bang (and perhaps earlier) to the development of modern humans, in about 100,000 BC. The Dark Times of the universe were known to have occurred in the distant past.
  • The distant past is defined in Earth's calendar as being from "the big bang" until 1699. The notation BCE ("Before Common Era") and CE ("Common Era") are alternative notations for BC ("Before Christ") and AD ("anno Domini"), respectively.
  • Roughly 48 Billion years ago: Universe is created. 7-6 billion years ago: The Solar System was created, as were most of its planets. 5-3 billion years ago: Early Martians evolved and wrecked the Dorthean Civilisation. Martians put into stasis by computer virus. Humans begin to evolve differently from Ravens, and the species become different. 3-1 billion years ago: Dinosaurs eliminated by crash-landing Martian Starship that had been in orbit before. 39,256,808 BC: Hoovoqueere Erupted. 2,512,000 BC: The Hadadookemroalstir Galaxy begins. 350,000 BC: Centurians leave Alpha Centuri to The Solar System.
