  • Cheese Pouf 8 slices white bread 1 pkg. (8 oz) Old English cheese slices 4 T. butter, melted 3 eggs 1 t. salt 1/2 t. pepper 3/4 t. dry mustard 2 cups milk Trim crusts from bread and cut into one inch squares. Cut cheese slices into bite sized pieces. In greased shallow two quart casserole, alternate layers of bread and cheese, beginning with bread. Pour melted butter over top. Beat eggs well. Stir in salt, pepper, mustard, milk, combining thoroughly. Pour over ingredients in casserole. Cover and chill at least 4 hours. Bake covered in preheated 350 oven for 30 minutes. Uncover and bake 30 minutes more until top is golden and puffy. This is similar to a souffl� and delicious served as a main dish for brunch. Serves 6 Must prepare ahead Source: Dion McCormick Coley
