His first win came while driving for Cale Yarborough in 1997 at Daytona International Speedway, and his second while driving for Richard Petty (Petty Enterprises) in 1999 at Martinsville Speedway. In 2003 and 2004, Andretti started several races in the #1 Dale Earnhardt Incorporated car. In late 2004 and early 2005, Andretti started a handful of Cup races for the now defunct #14 ppc Racing cup team, as well as Morgan-McClure Motorsports later in the 2005 season. In 2005, John also had four starts in the #15 Billy Ballew Motorsports truck in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. In 2006 John Andretti started running in the NASCAR Nationwide Series as a rookie. Driving for the RV.com Ford for Greg Pollex. John has recorded 1 top 5 and 4 top 10s. He also sits 13th in points through 31 races. Andretti has also competed in the Indianapolis 500 seven times, with a best finish of 5th in 1991.
