  • The night sky faded, and gave birth to a scarlet dawn which shone through the half-closed blinds. A certain figure was still tossing and turning upon their bed. Deftly slamming his fist against the alarm clock, which read "3:41 PM" on his bedside table in an attempt to halt its incessant beeping, Gai Nagareboshi slowly gazed over at the mirror, staring at his figure. Gai Nagareboshi's brunette hair was splayed out in all directions at the ends, reaching down to his waist. Several large clumps of hair stuck out, some curling away horizontally. His bangs framed his face, though they had two 'layers', with the behind layers falling to rest upon his chest. There were a few locks of hair kept in the middle of his forehead; there was a slim curled forelock of hair at the top of his head. Small hips, white long legs and thighs, and a nice curved rear. There were several impossibly attractive women in Earth, Soul Society, and Hell, though Gai's body was far more beautiful than all of those, from past, present, and future, even though he was a guy. It could be classified as art; a body with perfect shape. It looked like a nude body painting or statute on display at the museum. His azure within magenta eyes sparkled in a similar manner to a stream. As he gazed over at the other side…That person's crimson hair which was spread over the pillow appeared stunning, to say the least. "…Crap!" Gai couldn't calm himself down to save his life. Why the hell was he sleeping with Kurenai? "Not again!" Kurenai slowly opened her eyes in a daze, batting her eyelashes. Such a beautiful state; she arched her body up at the same time as Gai stretched his arms out, yawning in exhaustion. For some reason, he couldn't get any sleep at all that last night; maybe he fell asleep late, or maybe he was dreading the training that was about to start the moment that he trudged downstairs, and subconsciously attempted to stay up here as long as possible. Kurenai's mind was racing. Her dreams… "I'm…I'm back in the room. The same room I've been in so many times before. …The white room. I look around…but I still don't know why I'm here, or what I'm supposed to do, or…anything. I…never know anything… 'Never…' But…wait…Something's different. The person standing in front of me speaks, for the first time. 'Look at that.' He points toward a giant mirror. I can see myself in it. I had no idea there was something like this in here. I…I can't turn away…At first I assumed it was me, but the person in the mirror…it's someone else. It's not me…but I knew them once. I knew them…A very long time ago…Before I lost my memories… A long, long time ago…Before I was born…But…I can't remember them anymore. 'You're not me. Who…are you?' The person in the mirror asks me, but I don't know the answer. I can't remember. I can't remember. I can't remember. I can't remember. I can't remember…Who is he? And…Who…am I?" "The room is always the same. A white room. Everything's white. The floor, the ceiling, the walls, the bed. Even the clothes I'm wearing. I'm waiting there, but I'm not sure why. I don't know what I'm supposed to do. I never know what's going on. Sometimes that worries me. …It's always like this. That's when…he appears again. I don't know who he is, but something tells me the room is his, so I try to talk to him. 'Where is this?' I move my mouth, but nothing comes out. His face is fuzzy. I can't make it out. I desperately try to call out. 'Why am I here?' … 'Who…am I…?' … 'Please…tell me…' … But he never hears me. He never, ever does…" Her thoughts were so incoherent; she was visibly shaking as Gai touched her small hand, questioning, "…Hm? Something's wrong, correct?" As if frightened, Kurenai weakly nodded, confirming Gai's suspicions. "I don't know why…I feel like I've got a void that I need to fill within my heart…And it feels like, it's tearing me up inside. What do I—" Gai placed his hand upon Kurenai's cheek, responding, "I'll tell you something. Tomorrow, we'll go to the beach. (I hope we get the chance.) Just you and I." Kurenai was utterly perplexed, as Gai continued, "I know if we can laugh about stupid stuff, this feeling of incompletion will go away." Kurenai shrunk back for the briefest of moments, before replying with a slight blush, "D-Do you, mean that?" Gai nodded, affirming this. She didn't know why, but Gai Nagareboshi was slowly becoming someone incredibly important to her; something more than a mere acquaintance. Gai was thinking, he would love to just take her to the beach right now and disregard any other job he was meant to do—but this; this was an enormously important matter. He had to repent for his rudeness back then—if he had not shot his mouth in a rage off at that time, then maybe then, things wouldn't be so complicated these days. In the span of a few moments, the Mototsu-Seishin quickly dressed himself in a white track jacket with black raglan sleeves with orange stripes down the middle. This jacket had a zipper that reached down to the bottom part of his stomach. The sleeves' cuffs had orange concentric rings in the middle, as did the collar. He also wore black tracksuit pants, with orange stripes down the middle, as well as black sandals. Unbeknownst to him, Kurenai was still in the room, somewhat shocked and embarrassed by the nonchalant way he went about changing in front of her. Gazing back, the Mototsu-Seishin hybrid only just now registered what he'd done. His eyes widened as an air of awkwardness flowed about the small room. "U-Uh…" Gai was at an utter loss for words—so, this was what Gunha told him about thinking before he acted! Thanks to his sheltered upbringing by his stepmother, Gai Nagareboshi knew very little about social norms, something that would remain no matter how much he attempted to correct such an irregularity. "…Awkward." Kurenai couldn't have put it better herself, that was for sure. In an hurry in an attempt to diffuse the situation and wipe it clear from both of their minds, Gai quickly left without another word.
