He has been methodically taking over the villages in the area, and when the Watambi refused, they were invaded by all manner of birds and beasts, and the princess, Nyami, was taken by baboons. Ombassa agreed to give tribute to Ajangi but Ajangi kept Nyami, intending to make her queen of his new dynasty. Belit and Conan pledge to help their friend (as they were ostensibly under Belit's protection) and they travel to Abombi. As they attempt to scale the cliff, they are ambushed by baboons and Conan falls off the cliff while Belit is taken prisoner by Ajangi.
