  • There are always those who stand to rise up from the ranks, those with bright talents enough to outshine the rest. There are also those who are constantly in the shadows, ignored, almost invisible. Unfortunately, I am of the latter. I, Streakpaw, who is always alone. Always. I am nothing special, with an average build and a dull grey coat with a streak of black fur covering my face, hence my name. In fact, his legacy is the reason of my seclusion. It surrounds me, following me wherever I go, blotting my very existence, covering me like the darkness of a new moon. I can never escape it.

I am shy and reclusive, like a turtle inside of its shell, and I also sometimes have stuttering issues. But that's not the real reason of why I am treated like an outcast. In reality, I am like this because of my brother. Falconpaw, my brother, has the looks and strengths of one of those fabled LionClan cats, the speed of an adder, and the ability to make any she-cat swoon with just a wink. In other words, he is the complete opposite of me, a suave, level-headed, and charming tom that leaves a legacy so huge, it's as giant as one of the pine trees that surround our clan. In fact, his legacy is the reason of my seclusion. It surrounds me, following me wherever I go, blotting my very existence, covering me like the darkness of a new moon. I can never escape it. It wasn't always like this. When I was but a kit, I was like any other, playing, talking, getting into mischief, even becoming friends with my brother. Then, like a storm that came unexpectedly on a sunny day, my parents were killed by a badger when they were out hunting, and just like that, my life was changed forever. My brother and I took different paths: I retreating into my mental shell, traumatized and scarred by this sudden loss, and my brother, swearing to become the very best to make his deceased parents proud. As we both ventured into our own paths, they separated us into what we are today, forever changed. After our apprentice ceremony, we remained the same, one closed off from the world, and the other having great ambitions.
