Other reports assert it was never a temperate place, and as such the early settlers were hunters with no knowledge of agriculture.
- Atmora ist ein Kontinent auf dem Planeten Nirn. Es ist nicht viel bekannt über Atmora, weil vor der Großen Migration keine geschriebenen Sprachen existierten. Atmora war die Heimat der Vorfahren der Nord, bekannt als Atmoraner, bevor sie sich auf nach Himmelsrand gemacht haben. Ein Bürgerkrieg fand in Atmora statt und ein blonder Mann mit goldenem Bart, der später als Ysgramor bekannt wurde, sammelte alle ein, die den Ort verlassen und in Frieden leben wollten. Sie verließen Atmora per Schiffsreise und kamen später im Norden in Tamriel an, genauer gesagt in Himmelsrand.

La historia cuenta que Ysgramor convenció a un buen grupo para abandonar Atmora por la terrible guerra civil que sufría y migrar, llegaron al norte de Skyrim donde fundaron la ciudad de Saarthal. Debido al enorme número de Elfos de las Nieves que habitaban el territorio decidieron bautizarlos como Mereth haciendo referencia a los mer. Ante el desmesurado crecimiento de la raza humana los elfos de las nieves, hoy conocidos como Falmers, decidieron eliminarlos dando comienzo a la noche de las lágrimas quemando Saarthal, sólo Ysgramor y sus dos hijos Yngol y Ylgar pudieron escapar. El héroe volvió a sus tierras, ahora llenas de paz, y explicó lo sucedido al resto de habitantes. Llenos de rabia y con ganas de venganza reclamaron Merteh como suya. Lo que hoy en día se conoce como "Día del Paso Final" empezó cuando Ysgramor acompañado por los célebres 500 Compañeros partieron en busca de conquista, vencieron a los elfos de las nieves y los demás mer y rebastecieron Saarthal, ese fue el inició del primer imperio y conocido como "El Retorno". Tiber Septim fue el último Atmorano en llegar a Tamriel, lo hizo en la segunda era y a partir de ese punto no se sabe que pasó con su continente para sufrir un cambio tan drástico que acabo, supuestamente, con todo ser vivo. Jylkurfyk fue un importante puerto allí de donde zarpó Ysgramor y sus hombres.
