He was very joyful during his new life and he was resposible for keeping the money for each member of the company team, as he loves money more than his life. During the Battle of Lam Nheong, he was appointed to protect the bank. As only a few Orcs arrived to steal money. He quickly managed to kill them all off.

When the War of the Ring began, Calenglad had traveled to Bree where he had been disguised as a member of the Ruffians. His job was to find out if the Ruffians were aligned with the enemy since money had been stolen from several places in Armor. When he heard news that the Nine Black Riders were here in Bree, Calenglad believed that his friend Strider was in trouble, but was relieved that he was okay. Later on, Calengad received a message from Samotin to meet with Halbarad Dúnadan, who had been gathered hundreds of Rangers of the North to join his company and venture south to face the enemies of Mordor. Calenglad never feared on what was about to happen, and would either live or die to fight. He was shot by a fire-arrow and was serevely injured during the Battle of Pelennor Fields, but he was eventually rescued by a few Rohirrim soldiers and was healed later in the House of Healing. Since he was too injured to participate in the Battle of Morannon, Calengad went to Fornost Erain with some of the other surviving members of the Grey Company during the early years of the Fourth Age.
